World Colors :: November : Turquoise

As you may have noticed, I took a slight absence from participating in the World Colors project this year while I was on my big trip.  I’m excited to pick up again this month, and even more excited to relaunch the project with Naomi Hattaway in January. Click here if you’d like to receive more information about participating!

If you’re new to Project World Colors, there are really no rules outside of curating a selection of your photographs — old or new, many or few — around the month’s color.  The idea is to give us a view of that color through your eyes, whether at home or abroad.

Turquoise is a bit of a different color.  It shows up a bit more specifically than a primary color.  My ‘turquoise’ photos can be divided into two categories: beautiful water, and pops of the color I have encountered in my travels.

What pops of color are you seeing lately?

Santorini, Greece

Koh Phi Phi, Thailand

Bay of Islands, New Zealand

Lake Taupo, New Zealand

Rangitoto Island, New Zealand

Horse cart in Bagan, Myanmar

Galata Bridge, Istanbul, Turkey

Bedouin village, Wadi Musa, Jordan

Streets of Yangon, Burma/Myanmar

Temple outside Battambang, Cambodia

Vientiane, Laos

Athens, Greece

Jodhpur, India

We would love to have you join us for the next color!  Sign up for more information about participating.  We reveal the upcoming month’s color on the project’s Twitter and Facebook if you’d like to follow along!

See you next month! <3

Most visually beautiful photo in this post: Tied for 1st- the Mandalay, Burma and the Wat Xieng Thong Temple in Luang Prabang, Laos, tile works/mosaics.

Thank you so much for sharing these! And, welcome back (reluctantly as it may be).

    • Hi Jonelle! Thanks for the comments!
I also love Aqaba and really, all of Jordan. Turkey is the BEST. Safe to say I agree with your favorite places.
Can’t wait to see your turquoise picks 🙂

  3. Beautiful!! I’m very lucky working as a dive instructor in the Caribbean that gorgeous turquoise is every day at work 🙂
