“World Colors” Turns Green This Month!

If you have yet to hear about the #WorldColors project Naomi Hattaway and I created, allow me to introduce you.

Naomi is an incredible writer, blogger, and friend I met via Twitter.  (yay!)  A former expat of New Delhi, India, a current expat in Singapore, and most definitely a part-time traveler, we connected and found that we both enjoy photographing the world around us, especially showcasing daily life and other cultures, and especially in vibrant color.

As we approached the new year, we talked about creating a collection of photo essays, centered around a color “theme” for each month.  We agreed to access both our cameras and our archives, both home and abroad, and present them our own blogs each month.

We have also invited others to participate — the more, the merrier!  All you need to do is post a photo essay on your blog around the month’s color — look to either Naomi or my posts for a round-up and be sure to let us know so we can include your link!  Also, share the link via Twitter using the hashtag, #WorldColors.  It’s fun to create your own post, and more fun to see how others interpret and present the color.

The project has spread to other forms of social media, including Instagram and Pinterest.  You can participate even if you don’t blog!  (Don’t forget the hashtag.)

Join us for a monthly exploration of colors from around the world.  We would love to see the color through your eyes!

  1. Hey! I just found your blog via a mutual friend ‘liking’ it on facebook. I know we went to high school together but I don’t think we ever had any classes together?
I’m definitely going to stick around to read about your adventures! It looks like we have a lot in common… food, travel, photography… although you have been to a lot more places than I have! =)
    Safe travels to you! Cheers!

    • Hi Ashley! It’s a pleasure to “meet” you here! Thank you for reading and commenting. You definitely understand what I’m about and what sounds like are our mutual passions in life!
It will be a delight to have you following along. Keep me posted on YOUR travel plans and if there’s any way I can help you achieve them, I’m always here to help. Cheers 🙂

  2. Hi Anne!
Just checking in to see if you and/or Naomi ( @naomi_hattaway )have selected the color for April’s #worldcolors #worldcolours. I may have missed the announcement somewhere so I just wanted to ask.

Love, love, love your Hong Kong photos! Amazing, even in the fog- maybe especially in the fog!

Looking forward to seeing more soon-

    Jonelle

    • Thank you, Jonelle! I agree about especially in the fog 🙂
April’s color has yet to be formally announced, but I’m working on a post now for “yellow.”
Looking forward to your next photo set!

    • Beautiful! I am waiting on a few more pictures from my time in Vietnam for April’s “yellow” but coming soon!
