We call it Gemütlichkeit. Some of my fellow countrymen believe the Danes have stolen this concept from us, but I differ in opinion. I view such cultural concepts cannot be owned except by a people and as such hygge is similar but not the same, much in the same way Germans and Danes are similarly Germanic but not distinct.
